United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis, MD

Oct 13 - 16, 2011 Located in the quaint town of Annapolis, Maryland, the show features everything from luxurious motor yachts and trawlers to high-performance boats and offshore fishing machines. Attendees will also find a wide selection of marine equipment, high-tech electronics, accessories, gear and related services such as boating lessons, rentals, insurance firms and lending institutions.

MMCA logo Since 2008, Bay Pile Driving has been a member of the Maryland Marine Contractors Association.

This non-profit organization has the goal of promoting safety among marine construction contractors, as well as representing the interests of all stakeholders with regard to development of waterfront properties. Visit the MMCA website for more information.

Shoreline Protection / Erosion Control

rip-rap rock shoreline protection system Shoreline protection can come in several forms, and state regulations must be taken into consideration.

If shoreline protection walls are an available option on your property, we offer two choices: Vertical Timber or C-Loc Vinyl. It is very important to replace your shoreline protection before it fails. Replacement bulkheads can only be permitted if the original is 85% intact.

Stone rip-rap is sometimes a better (or required) option. In these cases, we offer white/gray, or blue.

In certain circumstances, the state may require a living shoreline. The State of Maryland passed the new Living Shoreline Protection Act into law in October 2008. With this law, "Living Shorelines" are now the preferred method of shoreline erosion control.

Bay Pile Driving is fully licensed and insured in the State of Maryland.

Educated consumers are urged to beware of contractors that are not licensed and fully insured in the state in which work is being done.

A contractor should be eager to show you his license in the form of a wallet-size card, or a full-size certificate.

Take down the number and search for it online (Maryland DLLR website) to be sure it is still valid.

Also be sure to ask for a certificate of insurance for workman's compensation and liability. If your contractor does not have these,

and a worker is injured on your property, YOU could be held liable for any medical bills!
